Bird News Wednesday 1st February

3 Waxwings were at Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal, see picture below. (Christine Cassidy & Dermot McLaughlin).

5 Goosanders were at Randalstown today, 2 males and 3 females. (Ronald Surgenor).

A Merlin was at Reedy Flat (Adam McClure).

30+ Waxwing were in gardens behind Tescos Garage, Benson Street, Lisburn. Sanderling and Purple Sandpipers were at Portrush East Strand. (Garry Wilkinson).

In Bangor an adult Mediterranean Gull still in winter plumage was west of Pickie along the coastal path, Seacliff Road had 200 + Dunlin and 60+ Ringed Plover roosting. (Derek Polley).

4 Twite were by Glenarm marina late this afternoon, see pictures below. (Gavin Ferguson)
