Bird News Thursday 26th March.

The Green-winged Teal was still at Ballycarry bridge. (Cameron Moore) see pic below

A first winter Iceland Gull was in a ploughed field at Ballywillan Road Portrush.  8 Twite were at Brigg’s Rocks. (Colin Guy)

40 Manx Shearwaters and 2 Sandwich Terns passed St John’s Pt in 30 minutes today. Nearby, a 1w Glaucous Gull was on the shore at Rossglass (Chris Murphy)

Our thanks to Cameron who kindly sent in the record shot of the Green-winged  Teal (right hand bird). You can see from the photo the white strip goes vertically on the Green-winged Teal and horizontally on the Common Teal
