Bird News Saturday 4th January

25+ Red-throated Diver & 3 Great Northern Diver were off Portmuck, Islandmagee this afternoon (Adam McClure)

An adult Mediterranean Gull was at Bangor marina, Belfast Lough at 15.00hrs today. (Paul McCullough)

South of Gransha Point, 17 Black-throated Diver were in a compact feeding flock and 6 Great-northern Diver. Elsewhere on the east side of Strangford Lough at Greyabbey Bay were 16 Slavonian Grebe and 4 Great-northern Diver, at Kircubbin 4 Great-northern Diver and at Marlfield 5 Great-northern Diver and a Gannet (Richard Weyl)

Cranny Falls, Carnlough had a flock of 15+  Bullfinches, Buzzard and Dipper (John Loughlin and Irene Miller)

The drake American Wigeon was on the Donegal side of the Drowes River estuary at Tullaghan (Chris Ingram)

For anyone missing Ross's Gull, an adult was found today at Salthill, Co Galway (Aonghus O'Donaill)

3 Great Northern (at least one calling), 2 Guillemot, 4 Black Guillemot and a Red-breasted Merganser were at the Netwalk in Killyleagh (Spencer Marshall)

The Ring-necked Duck was at Castke Ward. The Siberian Chiffchaff was along the Holywood coastal path near Rockport School (Stuart McKee)
