Bird News Friday 4th October

The Crane was still at Myroe, 7 Ruff were also present. (Neal Warnock).

St John's Point, mid-afternoon had 1-2 Merlin, 1 Buzzard, 300 Swallows, 600 Linnets, 150 Skylarks, 100 Goldfinches, 100 Meadow Pipits, 40 Lapwings, 200 Rooks, 1 Stonechat, 1 Grey Wagtail, 6 Goldcrests, 1 Willow Warbler, 1-2 Chiffchaffs, and a Spotted Flycatcher. (Chris Murphy)

Greyabbey Bay had 2 Slavonian Grebe and  Kearney had 2 Chiffchaff. (Richard Weyl).

4 Ruff were in the southwest corner of Lough Beg and 2 Green Sandpiper and 2 Pink-footed Geese at Mullagh (David Steele).   

A juvenile Little Stint, Sandwich Tern and first-winter Mediterranean Gull were at Sandy Bay in Larne (Cameron Moore).

Aranmore Island off Donegal had a Wryneck, Yellow-browed Warbler, Snow Bunting and a Spotted Flycatcher. (Chris Ingram).
