Bird News Wednesday 1st May

Probable Lesser Scaup drake at Lough Shark, Co Armagh (Joe Devlin).

A male Wheatear was in a garden in Greenisland this morning (Roger Woodward).

2nd winter Glaucous Gull, Belfast Lough RSPB (Bird Guides).

6 Waxwing were at New Mossley Elim Church in Newtownabbey.

A Whimbrel and Carrion Crow on the shore near Ringdufferin, Killyleagh this evening (Jason Starbuck).

2 Peregrine were at the south end of Cookstown (Tony McCormick).

2 pair of Dipper and a pair of Grey Wagtail were along the river in Dunmurry (Davy Brooks).

4 Wheatear and 4 Whimbrel were at Ballyvester Beach in Millisle (David McCormick)

Swallows in flight at Hazelbank shore & Whiteabbey Hospital grounds, Newtownabbey (Jim McKeown).

Yesterday morning a Grasshopper Warbler was singing in gorse scrub near junction of Ballyminymore Road and Garlandstown Road (Andrea Johnston).

If anyone fancies a twitch, the Lesser Yellowlegs is still showing well just over the border in Dundalk (Irish Birding).
