Bird News Monday 28th January.

The Norwegian ringed Waxwing found dead in Limavady was a first-calendar year male ringed on 26th October at Store Faerder 59.0409N 10.3148E. It had moved 1,140km from there to Limavady (Declan Clarke).

The adult Ring-billed Gull was at Groomsport and a Red-throated Diver flew east past the harbour (George Gordon).

Our thanks to Craig Nash for this lovely image of a Long-tailed Tit.(above) and to Tom McCreery for his equally stunning photo of this Stonechat.
