Bramblings

There is every indication that this could be another 'Brambling Winter'. Hundreds of thousands of Bramblings have been observed migrating on the Continent. The last Brambling Winter was two years ago. It is worthwhile keeping an eye on your garden birds as so far birds have turned up in gardens in Carrickfergus and Whitehead.
