Bird News Saturday 6th October

A Golden Eagle, 1 Snow bunting, 4 Chough, 1 Peregrine, 6 Wheatear, 12 Greylag, 1 Snipe, 2 Kestrel, 1 Buzzard and 4 Raven were at Fair Head/Murlough Bay (Richard Donaghey)

Today Briggs had 11 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Northern Divers, 48 Skylarks,19 Redpolls, 27 Wigeon. 6 Buzzard were at west end of Great Copeland (Colin Guy)

2 Pink-footed Geese were at Ballyquintin Point (Richard Weyl)

St Johns Point had, between 8-8:30am: 2 Stock Dove, 4 Raven , 2 Buzzard, 20 Tree Sparrow, 4 Reed Bunting, 3 Stonechat, 1 White Wagtail, 200 Skylark (Chris Murphy).

Also at St John's Point was a female Hen Harrier. (Zach & Tom McCreery).

6 Buzzards were in the air together over Donaghadee Garden Centre at 12.30 and 14 Whooper Swan passed over Comber at 4.00 this afternoon. (Chris Shaw).

Elsewhere, the highlight was a Belted Kingfisher in Galway, the first since 1984 in Ireland.
