Bird News Thursday 1st March

The Rough-legged Buzzard was giving good views this morning (at low tide), perched in bushes at Anne's Point and later flying over Chapel Island, viewed from the shore south of Anne's Point. (Ron Price & Michael Taylor)

The 1st winter goose, possibly a Grey-bellied was still present among 600 Brents in Killough. Also, 1w Iceland Gull, 79 Wigeon, 13 Shelduck, 2 RB Mergansers, 36 Turnstone, 60 Curlew, 80 Golden Plover, 125 Dunlin, 3 Greenshank and, unusually, a Yellowhammer in the trees of St Anne's Church.(Chris Murphy)

The two Iceland Gulls were still at McConnells Weir, Ormeau Embankment, Belfast (Birdguides)
An Iceland Gull was at Coalisland Recycling Centre (Irish Birding)
At Annalong there were 20+ Purple Sandpiper, 1 Chiffchaff, and 2 Dipper (Joe Devlin)
