Bird News Wednesday 5th January

The Snowgoose was still with the Greylags in fields north of Greyabbey, visible from the main road, and a Sandwich Tern was at Portaferry. (Frank Carroll).
5 Goosander (only one an adult male) flew out of the river at Cushendun and settled in the bay in the late afternoon. (Colin Guy).
The Ferruginous Duck was still at Craigavon Balancing Lakes and 2 Brambling were in the large mixed finch flock in the Sunflower field on the road down to Reedy Flats, 18 Whooper Swans were in the fields at the Flats along with 200 Greylag Geese. (Ed O'Hara).
