White Wagtail - 1, on the beach at Ballyhalbert.

Four Stock Doves were feeding this morning in a ploughed field on the outskirts of Templepatrick, Co.Antrim. They are now a very scarce bird in Northern Ireland (with good numbers found only on Big Copeland Island).

The Cranes were looked for in Fermanagh but the farmer Davy Heatherington said that they flew off on Wednesday. They may be in the general area and it would be worth keeping an eye out for them. However a Cuckoo and Water Rail were both heard.

Also, Hen Harriers were seen in both Monaghan and Fermanagh yesterday.
Specific sites for rare and scarce breeding birds will not be posted during the breeding season.
